Cameroon Elite One side PWD of Bamenda have provided an assuring update about their goalkeeper Edward Sombang who suffered a concussion during their one-nil win against Colombe of Dja in a league game last Sunday.
Sombang suffered a concussion after collision and had to be replaced by Karim Belo who as newcomer Heka Ebongue’s solo strike ensured all three points return to Abakwa.
After the game attention switched to the intensive care unit of the Yaounde Central hospital where Sombang was being monitored and administered treatment.
What’s now from the hospital is just the kind of news stakeholders want to hear.
“Our goalkeeper Sombang Edward is responding well to treatment after suffering a Concussion in our game against Colombe. He’s still at the intensive care unit of the Yaounde Central hospital.
Quick recovery safe hands,” a club statement read.
Sombang has been a regular for coach Alain Nseme’s side this campaign.
While wishing him a quick recovery, the club’s diehards hope he returns soonest and helps the 2020 champions move further away from the relegation zone.
PWD will face title contenders and table toppers UMS of Loum on match day 13 of the championship next weekend.
