Elite one side, Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda have crowned their first week of preparation ahead of the elite one championship with a resounding victories against elite two side Rangers FC Bafut.
In two separate pre-season matches against played against Rangers FC Bafut, the boys of coach Ndikum Blaise Tengoh won the first match by two goals to zero and also won the second by 5 goals to zero.
In the first friendly match played mostly by players who came for recruitment, Kelvin Lekunze and Junior Godstine scored in both halves to give YOSA a two goals victory.
In the second match played mostly by the players retained at the end of last season by YOSA, Nchindo John Bosco scored a brace, while Fang Englebert made it three as Yong Sports Academy took 10 minutes to dismantle the Rangers FC defense.
Former Rangers FC Bafut right back Meyanui Valentine and Cheson LoiBino scored again to give YOSA a five zero lead at half time.
In the second half of the match, Rangers FC Bafut were able to contain the YOSA pressure. Despite their resistance, Fuhnwi Alain Sama scored from close range to give YOSA a 6#0 lead.
All efforts from the boys of Coach Ngeukep Sylvanos Clerc of Rangers FC to score a consolation goal were dealt with by the YOSA backline.
Yong Sports Academy resumed training on Tuesday September 19, 2023 and Coach Ndikum Blaise Tengoh was confirmed head coach of the team just a few days later.
With the team now certain on who they will play in the MTN Elite One championship this season, coach Ndikum Blaise and his boys will keep working ahead of the first match of the season.
