Astute Sports Reporter, Charles Embola Molobe has been crowned Chief of Maumu Village in Buea Sub Division of the Southwest Region of Cameroon.
The former president of the Buea extraction of Cameroon Association of Sports Journalist was confirmed as the Traditional Ruler of the Maumu people this Thursday, July 25 in a crowd pulling event chaired by Divisional Officer, Dr Abba Abdourahman of Buea in the presence of 23 traditional rulers who share the Mopkwe culture like the Maumu people.
The CEO of Volcanic Times Newspaper and former contributor for kick442.com was knighted and acclaimed by a mammoth crowd in the centre of the village as they opened a new chapter under Chief Embola, who is replacing Chief William Molua Liteke who inherited the stool in 1999 from Chief Embola’s grandfather Otto Njonje Liteke who joined his ancestors in 1999.
For starters, Chief Embola was born and raised in Buea. He has developed into a very people oriented person to many across the board, reason our editorial crew see his coronation as a great phase for the Maumu people whose village is made up of ten families that each produced one King maker in the process.
Two king makers answered absent, one was disqualified for being unable to indicate who was their king maker.
Out of the seven king makers who took part in the selection exercise in front of the population, six voted for Chief Charles Mulobe Embola with the 7th absconding the voting process.
In the Sports side of it, Chief Embola who supports local football and is a diehard fan of Arsenal could cause the return of Maumu Youths FC which was one of the hit clubs in the Southwest Regional League of FECAFOOT back in 2017/18 but unfortunately folded after its proprietor, Atabe Harrison pulled out his resources.
Chief Embola, as he must be called henceforth has a herculean task of enforcing, peace, unity and fostering development in the community that has been massively affected by the ongoing crisis in the two Anglo-Saxon dominant regions of Cameroon.
