Eight women’s football teams in Africa will continue their quest to pick the two available tickets at the Paris 2024 Olympics as the qualifiers reach the third round.
On Friday, the first leg of the third round takes centre stage.
Record African champions, Nigeria will face Cameroon in Douala in a tight contest.
The Super Falcons beat Ethiopia 5-1 on aggregate in the second round while the Indomitable Lionesses had a 3-2 aggregate victory against Uganda.
The winner of the two-legged tie will face either African champions, South Africa or Tanzania.
South Africa will be away in the first leg after a 3-1 aggregate win over the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
For Tanzania, the team recorded a 3-0 aggregate triumph over Burundi.
Elsewhere, Morocco and Tunisia face off in the Magrerb encounter after the former saw off Namibia 4-0 in two legs.
Tunisia walked over Cote D’Ivoire in the previous round.
The last game of the third round will see Ghana and Zambia settle scores.
After beating the Benin Republic 5-0 on aggregate, the Black Queens have been faced with players payment issues ahead of the first-leg clash with the Copper Queens which walked over Mali in the last round.
It promises to be an exciting battle to qualify for the Olympics taking place in France this year.
