The organisers of Women’s Accredited Football Academies (WAFA) League have announced the date and venue for the 2024 Super 8 where the champions of the league will emerge on July 7, 2024.
This season’s Super 8 of the WAFA League is scheduled to take place from July 1 to 7, 2024, at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun state, Nigeria.
According to the Technical Director of the league, Olajide Royal and echoed by Secretary, Bagbe Michael and Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman Adeboye Soneye, the press conference, arrival, and draw date is on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Ikenne.
Eight teams; Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens, Papa Ladies, CATS Ladies, Great Stars Amazons, Future Stars 99 Queens, SGH Sports Amazons, Chosen Generation Angels, and Aseyori Queens will compete for the title from July 1 to 7, 2024.
The eight teams qualified from four groups during the regular season. Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens which played the second-tier Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship last season topped the Zone A log with 22 points after eight games ahead of Papa Ladies FC with 13 points.
CAT Ladies emerged as Zon B leaders with 12 points from six games ahead of Great Stars Queens which have 10 points.
In Zone C, Future Stars 99 Queens came out tops with 21 points after 10 games ahead of SGH Amazons which also had the same number of points.
Chosen Generation amassed 24 points to finish top of Zone D with 24 points, a point more than Aseyori Queens.
WAFA League is a women’s football league at grassroots level established basically to develop young girls in pursuing their career.
