Jérôme Onguéné delivered one of his most complete performances of the season as İkas Eyüpspor came from behind twice to secure a 2–2 draw with Beşiktaş in the Turkish Süper Lig.
Beşiktaş struck early when Orkun Kökçü opened the scoring in the sixth minute, finishing confidently to put the visitors in control. Eyüpspor, however, grew into the contest and were level shortly after the break when Umut Bozok converted in the 57th minute.
Onguéné played a decisive role as the home side turned the momentum in their favour. The Cameroonian defender provided the assist for Eyüpspor’s second goal, which arrived eight minutes later when Emre Akbaba calmly dispatched a penalty in the 65th minute to make it 2–1.
Beşiktaş refused to be beaten and restored parity in the 76th minute through Cengiz Ünder, whose powerful finish ensured the points were shared after an intense final spell.
Throughout the match, Onguéné was central to Eyüpspor’s resilience. He completed the full 90 minutes, making nine clearances and an interception as Beşiktaş pushed forward relentlessly in search of a winner.
His individual numbers underlined his authority: 46 touches, three of four ground duels won, two of three aerial duels claimed, two tackles completed, and a successful dribble, alongside his crucial assist.
For Eyüpspor, the result represented a valuable point against one of Turkey’s biggest clubs. For Onguéné, it was a commanding display of leadership and composure, reinforcing his importance to the side at both ends of the pitch.
