Head Coach of the Cameroon handball lionesses, Serge Christian Guebogo has passed away this Tuesday, February 14.
He is reported to have died from a brief illness.
He was at the helm of the Cameroon handball national team until his demise.
The lionesses have been currently preparing for the FIFA women’s Handball World Cup but the team will now take part in the competition without head coach Serge Christian Guebogo.
The late Serge Guebogo is two time vice champions, having led the lionesses to clinch the silver medals of the African women’s Handball championship on home soil (2021) and in Morocco(2022).
The 43-year-old has been at the helm of the Lionesses den since 2019. Recall that, he began his coach carrier with Tonerre of Yaoundé’s handball team where he rendered services until 2016.
