The 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season kicked off last Wednesday with all home teams winning their games.

A total number of 12 goals were scored with one away goal.

Below are the major statistics from the opening match day.

0 – There was no away win.

0 – There was also no away draw.

1 – Heartland Queens’ Onyedikachi Ekezie scored the only away goal recorded during the Matchday.

2 – Naija Ratels FC’s Agama Ziperekefeghe scored two goals to lead her side to a 3-1 win over Heartland Queens.

6 – six home teams won their games as Bayelsa Queens, Osun Babes, Naija Ratels FC, Nasarawa Amazons, Adamawa Queens, and Abia Angels all earned home victories.

6 – six away teams were defeated on the opening Matchday. Rivers Angels, Royal Queens, Heartland Queens, Edo Queens, Ibom Angels, and FC Robo Queens were inflicted with away defeats.
