NWFL Premiership: Holders drop points

Holders, Bayelsa Queens drop points in Matchday three of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership on Wednesday.

The 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League bronze medalist were unable to break the defensive brick wall of the newly promoted Heartland Queens and drop points for the first time this season after two league games.

In the other game of the match week, Delta Queens defeated neighbours, Royal Queens at Asaba Township Stadium thanks to a brace from Mercy Omokwo and a goal first-half penalty by Fehintola Mabokanje.

Nasarawa Amazons thrashed Ibom Angels 4-0 with two goals from Dooshima Tarnum and a goal each courtesy of Winifred Eyebhoria and Amarachi Okoronkwo.

Sofiat Sotunde scored the winning goal as Adamawa Queens edged Confluence Queens 1-0 at Atiku Abubakar Stadium, Adamawa.

Two goals from FIFA U-17 World Cup bronze-winning Blessing Emmanuel and one from Agama Ziperekefeghe lifted Naija Ratels FC to a 3-0 win over Osun Babes.

Edo Queens pipped FC Robo Queens at home in Lagos.

Ajimuda Rebecca and Yemisi Samuel canceled out Opeyemi Ajakaye’s seventh-minute equaliser.
