Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership defending champions, Delta Queens are looking set to defend the league title after having a run of impressive performances in their preseason engagements.

The Asaba girls defeated Texas U17 boys 4-1 to kick-start their preparation for the tough season ahead.

Alaba Olabiyi grabbed a brace, and Chisom and Blessing Ifetize scored a goal each in the encounter.

The Pearls didn’t stop there as they thrashed Heartland Queens 3-0.

Chinaza Agoh scored a brace and Olabiyi’s lone goal completed the defeat of Heartland Queens.

Delta Queens took many by storm to become the first NWFL Premiership side to win the league title unbeaten, a rare feat in women’s football in Nigeria.
