Cameroonian Jean Pierre Nsame and his Swiss colleague scored a hat trick and a brace respectively to inspire their Swiss Super League Club Young Boys Berne to a convincing win against struggling Winterthur this Sunday.
The Match Day 18 contest at the Stade de Swiss turned out to be one-way traffic as Nsame’s first hat trick of the season added to Cedric Itten’s first-half brace to help Young Boys win and establish a 14 points lead at the top of the Swiss Super League.
The hosts dominated opening quarter of the game and had their reward for the early dominance in the 17th minute when Cameroonian forward Jean Pierre Nsame broke the deadlock.
Cedric Itten doubled the advantage seven minutes later, sending Markus Kuster to the back of his net again.
Itten came back for more three minutes later, adding salt to the wounds of the visitors to complete her brace less than half an hour into the game.
Samir Ramizi pulled one back for Winterthur but Nsame scores twice in the second segment and missed a penalty to give Young Boys a twelveth win in 18 games in the Swiss Super League this season.
Nsame’s missed penalty in the 52nd minute didn’t matter as they did enough to take home maximum points.
Nsame has scored nine goals and assisted two in 16 appearances this season, making him the lead scorer in the Swiss top-flight championship this season.
Young Boys travel to Luzern for the next round of matches next weekend.
Nsame who was part of Cameroon’s squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be crucial for Young Boys during the rest of the ongoing season.
