Roger Siewe Nganjui has been elected as the new president of Unisport of Haut Nkam, taking over from Alain Monthe after a heated general assembly held on August 4, 2024.
The assembly, which took place in a tense atmosphere at St. Paul Bilingual College in Banka-Bafang, was marked by widespread dissatisfaction among members regarding Monthe’s leadership.
Participants expressed frustration over his lack of transparency and failure to provide financial accounts, leading to a significant loss of confidence in his management.
Unisport has been grappling with severe financial difficulties, claiming not to have received any subsidies from Fecafoot since the beginning of the season.
This financial strain almost forced the club to withdraw from the cup of Cameroon this year, highlighting the urgent need for effective leadership and financial oversight.
In light of these challenges, Siewe’s new administration is expected to prioritize stabilizing the club’s finances and restoring trust among its members.
With the player registration period already underway, there is a pressing need for decisive action to ensure Unisport can compete effectively in upcoming competition.
The success of Siewe’s presidency will largely depend on his ability to navigate these financial hurdles and unite the club’s stakeholders for a more sustainable future. The Insurance business expert with over 20 years of experience in his field as a tutor in Maritime and Transport Insurance is expected to pump in his personal resources to stabilize the club.
