Stade Renard of Melong have officially appointed experienced Cameroonian tactician Ndoumbe Bosso as their new head coach following the resignation of Souleymanou Aboubakar, who stepped down after a difficult run of results.

Aboubakar confirmed his decision in a resignation letter addressed to the club’s president, citing the team’s poor performances in recent weeks. “Given the unconvincing results of Stade Renard in recent times and despite our healthy and sincere collaboration,” he wrote, acknowledging the disappointing outcomes despite what he described as a frank working relationship with the club’s management.

In the letter, the coach formally announced his departure from the Melong-based club. “I regret to inform you that I am resigning from the technical bench of Stade Renard,” Aboubakar stated, bringing an end to his second spell at the club.

His departure also makes him the first coach to leave his position in the MTN Elite One this season, after a run of eight matches without a victory that left Stade Renard rooted at the bottom of the league standings. Despite the difficult circumstances, Aboubakar ended his message by wishing the club success in the future, writing: “I wish Stade Renard the very best going forward.”

To revive the club’s fortunes, the management has turned to Ndoumbe Bosso, one of the most experienced coaches in Cameroonian football. Bosso has previously managed several top-flight clubs including Young Sports Academy (YOSA), Union Sportive of Douala, Bamboutos FC of Mbouda, Cotonsport of Garoua, Canon Yaoundé and Elect-Sport of Limbe.

Bosso is expected to be at the Melong Municipal Stadium today to oversee his first training session with the team as he begins preparations for a demanding run of fixtures.

The new coach will start his reign with a tough away clash against table-topping Unisport of Bafang. He will then welcome Cup of Cameroon winners Panthère du Ndé, one of his former clubs, before facing Gazelle FA of Garoua, a side from the same city where he previously worked with Cotonsport. Bosso will then return to Limbe to face Victoria United FC in another crucial league encounter.

With Stade Renard desperate to climb out of the relegation zone, the experienced tactician faces an immediate test as he attempts to turn the club’s season around.
