Yong Nchang Nchindo John Bosco scored twice for Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda in their 0#2 away mauling of UMS of Loum on matchday 13 of the MTN Elite One championship.
Played at the Mbappe Leppe stadium in Douala, Saturday December 30, 2023, Yong Sports Academy dominated the opening minutes of the match with Denis Che Che, Fang Englebert and Nchindo John Bosco coming close to scoring.
YOSA’s goalkeeper Anye Alvin Bintso was called into action just once in the first half by a Nfanseu shot but it was saved.
Both teams ended the first half with no goal on either side.
Upon resumption of the second half, Anye Alvin Bintso, YOSA’s goalkeeper was substituted. He was replaced by Muhammed Yindui Amido.
With barely few seconds into the second half, Nguimbat Junior break open the UMS defense with a fine pass to Nchindo John Bosco.
Nchindo John Bosco’s shot went pass goalkeeper Camille Ombolo Noah to give Yong Sports Academy the lead.
Nchindo John Bosco on three different occasions came close to increasing the lead for YOSA but he squandered all the chances.
Fang Englebert’s shot hit the goal post.
At the 90th minute of play, a poor back pass from a UMS defender turned into an assist for Nchindo John Bosco who scored his fifth goal of the season.
The 0#2 victory comes on December 30th, 10 years after the Bobe Yong Francis, founder of Yong Sports Academy died.
The match was played at the time when the Yong’s family and supporters of the club were commemorating the 10th anniversary of his demise in Bamenda.
Yong Sports Academy maintained their third position in Pool B with 17 points.
