NCHINDO John Bosco who won the 2024 Cameroon Balon d’Or last Friday in Yaoundé landed at the Garoua airport with his award this Monday, March 3 to an exceptional reception.
The event saw him crowned the best player in Cameroon ahead of Nathan Douala and Yvan Mvondo courtesy his 2024 exploits with Yong Sports Academy and partly with Cotonsport of Garoua.
NCHINDO boarded a Camairco flight this afternoon at the Nsimalen International airport at 1:45pm and landed in Garoua at 2:45pm.
His arrival at the Garoua airport met happy faces of anxious Coton Sport administrative personnel and fans ready to celebrate their golden boy.
The club’s administration welcomed NCHINDO and congratulated him while urging him to keep the fire burning and win more for Coton Sport.
NCHINDO in his first reaction stated that “I came here today to present my trophy to my team. Last season I played for Yong Sport where I was captain and this season I am a player of Coton Sport of Garoua. This trophy is significant for me to push and give everything for this darling club Coton Sport and I know this year we will go places .”
NCHINDO was then welcomed by fans outside with great joy and after greetings and pleasantries a special caravan led by the fans headed for a tour of Garoua town.
The entire Garoua people felt the joy of a third straight Balon D’Or win by Coton Sport players following Maroua Souaibou and Emmanuel Mahop.
The caravan ended at the Coton Sport complex where his teammates were already training. He first celebrated with the reserve team taking pictures with all of them as he greeted and encouraged them .
At the end of the team’s training session, NCHINDO handed the trophy to his head coach Minkreo Birwe and eventually was given a guard of honor by his teammates in celebration of this great achievement.
The celebrations will continue on Tuesday as he will be presenting the trophy to the Coton Sport board and the Director general of SODOCOTON.
With NCHINDO already counting four goals and two assists for Coton Sport this season will he retain the title of the best in the land ?
