Cotonsport are on the verge of completing one of the biggest transfers of the ongoing window as the club is finalizing terms to sign John Bosco Yong Nchang Nchindo from rivals Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda.
According to sources at the North region outfit the playmaker who scored 13 goals last season for YOSA is in advanced negotiations with the 19-time MTN Elite One champions who are keen on adding him to their midfield options ahead of the new season.
Nchindo, who enjoyed a glittering last season at YOSA -especially in the playoffs, helping the club qualify for the title playoffs and pushing for the title though they eventually lost it to Victoria United FC.
Having come through the youth system of Santos , Nchindo moved to PWD in 2019 after being spotted at a tournament in Bamenda.
During his time at PWD the midfielder made a name for himself, winning the MTN Elite One championship in 2020 and the Cup of Cameroon before switching to YOSA for two seasons.
The 22-year-old has been away in Europe for tryouts but unfortunately failed to secure a contract a move to Europe, obliging him to return and get a new challenge in the country.
A move to Garoua will mark an end to a long chase as Camerinfos is reporting that the Cotonites have been chasing the signature of the former U-20 and U-15 Indomitable Lions for the past three years.
When the move happens, he will join a number of new signings made for coach Bonaventure Djonkep ahead of the new season.
The Cameroon transfer window will close on October 4 at midnight.
