Patient Wassou Gouegoue provided the assist for Abdouraman Daman Bouba as Coton Sports of Garoua defeated Bamboutos of Mbouda 0#1 to stand as favorites to win their 13th league title.
The match was counting for the second day of play in the MTN Elite One playoffs ongoing in Douala.
Bamboutos of Mbouda dominated the opening minutes of the match with possession of the ball.
However, Coton Sports of Garoua got back into the match as they imposed their play style on the Mangwa Boys.
Both teams resulted to defending and play in the counter.
The first real goal scoring chance of the match fell to Coton Sports of Garoua just before the end of the first half when Reich Triomph Kokolo shot the edge of the penalty area was well saved by goalkeeper Benjamine Munya of Bamboutos of Mbouda.
Upon resumption of the second half, it was the Cotonites that continued to impose their own style of play.
Ako Harry Oru came close to opening scores for Coton but his well timed header was saved by goalkeeper Benjamine Munya.

At the 70th minute of the match, Abdouraman Daman Bouba fired home the opening goal of the match for Coton Sports of Garoua thanks to a Patient Wassou assist.
The goal reawakened the players of Bamboutos as Maurice Bill Alex Diboto had a shot saved by Gadin Allambatnan.
A minute after that, Benjamine Munya pulled a world class save after a diving header from Phillipe Arthur Banen to keep the scores at one zero.
The victory takes Coton Sports to the top with 6 points in two matches.
Meanwhile Bamboutos now occupies the second position with 3 points, same number of points with Canon of Yaounde.
During the final playing day coming up on Sunday May 21, 2023, Coton Sports will play against Canon while Bamboutos of Mbouda will clash with Gazelle FA of Garoua.
