Cameroonian duo Kendri Ndem Mboma and Brian Anunga were at the heart of a stunning attacking display as FC Cincinnati thrashed Universidad O&M 9-0 in the second leg of their tie, sealing a 13-0 aggregate triumph after a 4-0 first-leg win.

With qualification already within reach, Cincinnati showed no signs of easing off, producing a relentless performance that overwhelmed their Dominican opponents from start to finish.

Mboma set the tone in the 18th minute, calmly finishing off a well-worked move to open the scoring. The young forward’s composure in front of goal reflected his growing confidence and importance to the side. Cincinnati doubled their advantage nine minutes later before adding a third through an own goal and a fourth before the break to make it 4-0 at half-time.

Anunga, operating from midfield, provided the steel and drive that allowed the attacking players to flourish. His energy and intelligent distribution helped Cincinnati dominate possession and dictate tempo throughout the encounter. He was also directly involved in the fourth goal, supplying the assist for Tom Barlow just before the interval.

The second half turned into a showcase for Mboma. He grabbed his second of the night in the 58th minute with a clinical finish, before playing a key role in the build-up to another as Cincinnati’s tally continued to rise. By the time the final whistle sounded, the scoreboard read 9-0, underlining the gulf in class between the two sides.

For Mboma, the brace further cements his reputation as one of the emerging Cameroonian talents making strides abroad. His movement, sharp finishing, and link-up play were a constant menace to Universidad O&M’s defence.

Anunga, meanwhile, delivered a typically disciplined performance in midfield, balancing defensive duties with forward thrust. His assist and overall control in the engine room ensured Cincinnati maintained intensity even with the tie effectively decided.

The emphatic aggregate score of 13-0 sends a strong message about Cincinnati’s ambitions in the competition. For Cameroon, it was a night to celebrate two of its sons shining brightly on the international club stage — Mboma with his goals and Anunga with his all-action midfield display.
