Brentford forward Bryan Tetsadong Marceau scored and assisted Georges Kevin Nkoudou’s first international goal in a 3-0 win sealed by an additional time goal from substitute Frank Magri.

The Indomitable Lions outclassed their visitors on the warm night at the packed Japoma Omnisport stadium on a night Mbeumo highlighted his quality again.

Operating in a 3-5-2 formation from the start, Rigobert Song’s team dominated possession and took the game to the Dodos but on a number of times they were denied by a brilliant intervention from Dorian Chiotti in goal for the visitors.

Cameroon found the breakthrough in added time of the first segment through Mbeumo who had been a torment to the opposition even before scoring.

Mbeumo fired home a rebound after Chiotti had made a fine save from a low effort from Wooh, who galloped into the box before forcing a save off the keeper. The parried effort fell to Mbeumo’s head but the keeper pushed the ball again to a comfortable height for Mbeumo who made it 1-0 with a half volley.

The goal broke the resistance from Lindsay Rose and peers and forced them to be more daring during the second segment.

Substitutes Nkoudou and Magri who were introduced for Yoko Ekambi and Faris Pemi Moumbagna added two late goals in the 88th and second minute of additional time to ensure the Indomitable Lions get their campaign underway in style.

Magri’s second international goal and Nkoudou’s first on the night Mbeumo took his national team tally to three goals makes it Cameroon’s biggest win ever at the Japoma Omnisport stadium.

The only downside of the game was the injury to Andre Onana, who was replaced by Fabrice Joseph Ondoa in the final ten minutes of the game.
