Indomitable Lion of Cameroon and Olympique of Lyonnais forward, Karl Toko Ekambi pulled out an assist in his side’s 4-2 win over Brest on Wednesday, December 28 in the Ligue 1 championship.

The 30-year-old Cameroon international after three shots on target in this encounter saved by goalkeeper Bizot, managed to make a decisive cross to Co-forward Tete whose left footed shot from the center of the box to score the 4th goal for Lyon.

Before Toko Ekambi’s assist, Maxence Caqueret opened scores of the game, scoring his first Ligue 1 goal for Lyon and has been involved in three goals in his last five appearances in the top-flight championship.

Rayan Cherki and Alexandre Lacazette scored the second and third respectively for Lyon, with the latter netting from the spot to write his name in history books as one of the most prolific penalties converters in Ligue 1.

Having played 90 minutes against Brest,Toko Ekambi has now made 15 appearances in the French Ligue 1 this 2022/23 football season, scoring four and recording one assist.

Ekambi has not been a regular starter for Lyon this season since Laurant Blanc took over as head coach of the French Ligue one side.

However, he was not left out from Cameroon’s squad that took part at the just ended 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

As it stands, Ekambi’s Lyon sits 8th on the Ligue table with 24 points, having won 7 games, lost 6 and drew 3.
