Cassava Farms team captain and top scorer of the second edition of the Limbe City Council Inter-Quarters Football Tournament, Agbor Takang Clinton, scored the lone goal in the final encounter against Makoka United FC to help his side clinch the trophy.

After missing out on the trophy last year during the final, Cassava Farms is champion of this edition of the competition, courtesy of a 1-0 win.

Both sides proved in the first segment they were deserving of the final spot, putting up an applaudable display especially towards goal.

Agbor Clinton wowed the crowed when he sent in a smart shot to the back of the net, taking goalkeeper Mboh Lawrence unaware to put Cassava Farms ahead 21 minutes into the game.

With this goal, he tops the goal scoring chart, thus emerging top scorer of this football tournament with eight goals and equally bags home 100,000frs CFA cash prize for being the first player to open scores in the final as promised by the President of the Cameroon Film Industry.

Makoka Boys mounted pressure on the leading side, but got their several opportunities in front of goal squandered with Landon Ebong getting the most of the opportunities but neither him nor his co-strikers could convert the chances to goals.

All efforts to get the equalizer were futile, as they went on break on a 1-0 score line in favour of Cassava Farms.
Samuel Nlend, had two goal scoring chances right inside the opponent’s 18m box face a face with the goalkeeper, but failed to increase tally for the Farmers.

However, Samuel was arguably the team’s leader on the pitch, level headed as he created most of the attempts on target.

Eben Tommy who ran the flanks at the left side of the pitch and Samuel were brought out for Dieudonne Onege and Achu Federick in attack.

Cassava Farms had its goalkeeper, Kibyen Patrick substituted deep into regular time for a crash. Ali Lamin played the remainder of the game.

At the sound of the final blast, it was over for Makoka United who could not change the scores, thus, making Cassava Farms to emerge victors.

Cassava Farms before reaching this stage of the competition, had lost just one game (0-2) against Mbende Vipers in their first game of this edition of the competition.

The champions made it to their second consecutive final and this time clinched the trophy. They lost the final last year to Down Beach FC.
