Didier Lamkel Ze has joined Turkish second tier championship side Sakaryaspor Kulübü Derneği on a one-year contract with an option for an additional year for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old Cameroon international was signed as a free agent and unveiled this Friday, thus starting a new chapter in his globetrotting football career.
Ze left Hatayaspor in June after returning from a disappointing loan spell at FC Metz which amounted to relegation of the four-time Ligue 2 winners who were League 1 runners-up in the 1997/78 season.
Sakaryaspor was formed in 1965 after the merger of Adapazarı Gençlerbirliği, Adapazarı İdman Yurdu, Güneşspor and Ada Gençlik. They are largely credited for the production of a number of Turkish internationals, including Hakan Şükür.
The 1988 Turkish Cup winners will be hopeful to have a very productive Lamkel Ze to inspire their promotion to the Turkish Super League as the former Lille and Royal Antwerp man have all it entails to do so.
Sakaryaspor picked up a point in the opening round of match of the season and are up against Manisa FK on the road in match day two of the Lig 2.
In the international scene, Ze has made three appearances for Cameroon’s senior national team, a country which the native of Bertoua also represented at U-20.
