Midfielder Jean Pierre Lemo Jnr has joined Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe until the summer of 2026, signing for an undisclosed fee from Renaissance of Ngoumou.
The 19-year-old has built a reputation as a technically gifted player since he was first scouted by the ISOHSA recruitment team and is expected to operate as a winger or central midfielder for the People’s Royal Elephants.
An impressive 2022/23 saw Jean Pierre Lemo Junior had an impressive season at Renaissance though his inputs couldn’t help keep the club afloat and by the end of the campaign he was a major target for ISOHSA.
On joining the club, Lemo said: “The ambitions of the club and what it has got going for it is massive for me. It’s a huge project with a passionate fanbase and I’m looking to really push on with my career now.
“If I was a kid now, looking at me signing for ISOHSA, it’s what dreams are made of. I’m really looking forward to what is coming and how I can progress in the coming years.
“I’m an effective player who can add goals and assists. I really like to create stuff but, on the other side, I’d also say I’m a very passionate player who always wants to win.”
Club vice president Angu Lesley added: “We are delighted to secure Lemo’s signature. His hunger to represent ISOHSA and continue his development here was obvious from the outset.
“He’s a passionate, talented player who we are really looking forward to welcoming to the club and ultimately seeing in a Green and white shirt.
“His signing is part of a strategic move to make our group younger, and I would like to thank the board and everybody involved at the club in making this move happen.”
This move marks an end to a period of speculation and uncertainty for the player who helped Bonadikombo FC of Mile to a runners-up position during the last edition of the Limbe City Council Interquarters, during which he was scouted by coach Mbock Maput of ISOHSA and many other coaches representing the interest of other clubs.
Everything being equal, the club could announce his arrival one of these days following the closure of the transfer window.
ISOHSA are preparing for their second season in the MTN Elite Two championship having raised the bar very high in their debut campaign with a top of the table finish in the relegation playoffs and reached the semi-final of the cup of Cameroon.
The 2023 national interpools champions will participate in the 17 clubs MTN Elite Two championship expected to begin in late October or early November.
