Cameroonian midfielder James Eto’o has reached a significant career milestone, celebrating 100 appearances for Botev Plovdiv. Since joining the club’s second team on September 23, 2021, from French side Boulogne, the 23-year-old has quickly become a pivotal figure in the team’s midfield.
The Yaounde born’s journey at Botev Plovdiv has been remarkable. After demonstrating his potential in the youth ranks, he earned a promotion to the first team, where his dynamic play and tactical awareness have been instrumental. In April 2023, he extended his contract, signaling his commitment to the club’s vision and ambitions.
During the 2023-2024 season, the former Musango player added silverware to his cabinet, winning the Bulgarian Cup.
Born on November 19, 2000, in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Eto’o began his footballing journey at Musango FC before moving to FC Nantes and then Boulogne in France. His experience with Nantes’ youth and reserve teams was essential in honing his skills and preparing him for the challenges of professional football.
The Botev centurion’s potential has also garnered attention on the international stage. He was named in the extended squad for the Cameroon national team ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
