Ignatius Ganago is set to join New England Revolution in Major League Soccer (MLS), with a series of agreements reached between his current club, FC Nantes, and the American franchise.

So far, the 25-year-old has had a remarkable career. He began his football journey at the EFCB junior academy in Cameroon before joining Nice in 2017. The Cameroonian international made his professional debut for Nice in a 4-0 Ligue 1 win against Monaco on the 9th of September 2017, coming on for Mario Balotelli in the 74th minute and scoring his first goal for the club.

In 2020, Ganago signed for newly promoted Ligue 1 club Lens, where he spent two seasons before moving to Nantes on a four-year contract in September 2022. The transfer fee paid to Lens was reportedly €3.5 million, excluding bonuses.

As he strives to further his football career, Ganago has also represented the Cameroon national team, making his debut in a friendly 0-0 tie with Tunisia on the 12th October 2019.

The deal, valued at 4.5 million euros, including bonuses, is subject to a medical examination, which Ganago is expected to undergo early next week. If all goes well, he will be loaned to New England Revolution with an option to buy, which becomes mandatory if he plays 60% of the matches.

Notably, things may likely become complicated as Montpellier HSC has also expressed interest in the former Lens and Nice player, aiming to bolster the club’s attacking options.
