Heartland FC players and officials have been charged to go all out to record their first maximum points of the season against Katsina United today at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

The Naze Millionaires two points from three games have seen them hover around the drop zone but the Imo State Commissioner for Youth Sports and Social Development Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo told the Heartland FC Media that only a good win would justify the huge investment of the state Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma.

He said the Governor was elated when he heard the result of their last away game in Akure where they got a 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars but that beating the Chanji Boys for the first win of the season would gladden the hearts of the Governor and all other football stakeholders in the state.

“We are happy we got that special draw in Akure but if we look at our league position on the table, it is worrisome and it is on the account of this we are charging the players to go and win convincingly against Katsina United,” Honourable Okoronkwo said to Heartland FC Media.

“We know we do not have any easy game but we are before our home fans and our supporters. We can only expect them to win well and also because of the fabulous performance of our Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma whose electoral campaign for second term bid would be boosted if Heartland FC are doing well. The Governor has provided all the support and it is left for them to make it count on the pitch.”

The Heartland FC General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu who marks his birthday today also corroborated the view of the Commissioner for Youth Sports and Social Development, Honourable Okoronkwo and he added that the Scientific Boys would make Governor Uzodinma happy with a good performance.

He said Heartland FC are in full support of the Governor’s second term ambition and that the players have assured him that they will their best today which will result in a win against Katsina United.

“We are happy with all that Governor Hope Uzodinma has been doing to the team through the Commissioner for Youth Sports and Social Development, Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo and we can only show it with good performance,” Nwachukwu told Heartland FC Media.

“We are assuring the Governor and our loyal fans that we are going to get a good result that will make them happy. I want them to win for me too as I am a year wiser today.”
