Hakimi has shown sheer class, gifting a young Zambian fan his match day gadgets to a young fan after Morocco’s 2-0 World Cup qualifiers win over Zambia on Monday.

Morocco solidified their top position in Group E by securing a 2-0 win over Zambia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers to extend their winning streak to 14 games and counting.

The match played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, saw Morocco’s Youssef En-Nesyri score the opening goal in the 7th minute, capitalizing on a Zambian defensive error. Hamza Igamane doubled the lead in the 47th minute with a stunning shot from outside the box.

The Moroccan team dominated the game and earned the three points yet again in these qualifiers.

Post-match, coach Walid Regragui praised his team’s performance while acknowledging Zambia’s strength.

With this win, Morocco has extended their winning streak in qualifiers to 14 matches, closing in on the world record of 15 consecutive wins held by Germany and Spain.

Morocco already secured a World Cup qualifiers berth after their 5-0 win over Niger over the weekend. This will be their seventh appearance in the global tournament and their third consecutive participation.

Hakimi grabs headlines post-match

In a heartwarming moment after the match, Achraf Hakimi showed compassion to a young Zambian fan. Hakimi gifted boots, a jersey, and sneakers to 10-year-old Luis Musonda, who was watching from the crowd.

What makes this gesture even more special is that Hakimi noticed Luis from the crowd and took the initiative to walk with him to the dressing room to hand over the gifts.

This moment highlights Hakimi’s kind and generous personality, as well as his willingness to connect with his fans, especially children. By taking the time to personally interact with Luis, Hakimi not only put a smile on the young fan’s face but also created a memorable experience.

The event in Zambia comes barely days after Hakimi came off his car and joined kids playing street football in Morocco.

Hakimi’s actions demonstrate that he values his fans and is willing to go the extra mile to make them happy. As a role model, he sets an excellent example for others to follow, highlighting the importance of compassion, empathy, and kindness in our interactions with others.

Morocco’s upcoming matches will be dead-rubber games aimed at better preparing the team for the 2025 TotalEnergies AFCON.
