Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain defender, Achraf Hakimi, has been accused of Rape by a 24-year-old lady, claiming it happened at his house in France.
According to BBC sports Africa, the victim reported the accused right back, Hakimi, at the police station though did not file any charges against him.
However, an investigation has been launched by the public prosecutor’s office in Nanterre, a town in the country’s capital city to look further into the claims of the victim.
Hakimi,24, has said nothing yet regarding this accusation, nor his club PSG like it were in the case of Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood.
Considered one of the world’s most prolific right backs, Hakimi played a major role in Morocco’s outing during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, that saw his team reach the quater finals.
He even scored the winning penalty against Spain to book Morocco a quater-final ticket for the first time in the history of their participation in the competition.
This exceptional performance earned him a recognition during the FIFA football awards under FIFAPro Men’s World Team of the Year, alongside club teammates Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.
Born in Spain, Hakimi has earned the love and admiration of a huge number of football lovers especially after an exceptional performance with his National team Morocco, during the World football set piece last year.
