Gymnastics National Artistic Finals Conclude Exhilarating 2023/2024 Season in Cameroon

The Cameroonian gymnastics season reached its pinnacle on the 27th of July 2024 as the national artistic gymnastics finals were held at the INJS sports complex in Yaoundé.

Nearly seven clubs from across the country came together to determine the champions in this highly anticipated event.

Over the course of 240 minutes, spectators were treated to a display of skill and artistry as gymnasts competed in various age categories, including chicks, minimes, cadets, juniors, and seniors for both men and women. Among the standout performers were:

– Minimal Ladies: Kamdem Yomba Yasmina (EM) and Long Mboule (EM)

– Minimal Men: Tamne Guy Emilien, Emaha Tebei Bill (SOA Gym Performance), and Mekede Kamdem (Emergence)

– Cadet Ladies: Damnin Game (Emergence) and Tamne Tchokote (Star Gym Club)

– Cadet Men: Teneku Matchew Pierre (Emergence) and Yimga Damni Henoc (Emergence)

– Junior Ladies: Jacente Estrella (Emergence) and Isabelle (Emergence)

– Junior Men: Mbenda Essombe (Emergence), Bong Benet (EMM’A GYM Bamenda), and Faisal Hamadou (Espoir Gym Maroua)

– Senior Ladies: Petsadjui Fomekong Ajara (Emergence), Tchuinte Lynka (AS Genie), and Teneku Moira (Emergence)

– Senior Men: Sodea Ruben (Emergence), Manguele David (Emergence), and MGBAKOBO Loïc (AS Messamena)

In the team rankings, Emergence came out on top in the Minimal Ladies, Senior Men, and overall Best Team categories.

The individual awards went to Petsadjui Fomekong Ajara as Best Female Athlete, Sodea Ruben Frédéric as Best Male Athlete, Etong Amougou Paule as Most Promising Lady, and Nehala Arthur as Best Promising Man.

CAMERGYM President Annie Flore Yekel expressed great optimism for the upcoming 2024/2025 season, stating that the level of talent and competition continues to rise in Cameroonian gymnastics.
