GSL Match Day Six wrap: Lekie FF unstoppable, Caïman records first win & FAP sinks deeper

Day Six games of the Cameroon women’s top tier championship dubbed the Guinness Super League, were played in the cities of Douala and Yaounde on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Four wins were recorded in five games, with the exception of the Authentic FC versus AS AWA game that ended goalless.

Lekie FF unstoppable

League leaders Lekie Football Filles of Lekie, defeated Eding FF 3-0 at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium in Yaounde on Thursday afternoon.

Farida Machia opened scores 12 minutes into the game, before Raissa Nnanga increased tally three minutes later (15).

Things got from bad to worst for Eding FF, when Christelle Zobo was shown red before the break. When hostilities resumed for the second segment, Marie Gisele Divine Ngah Manga scored the third goal for Lekie FF, who have now won all their five games played this season.

“We have to continue winning games so that we can have a good spot. We’re first on the rankings, but we have squandered many scoring chances, I think we can score more,” coach Stéphane Ndzana of Lekie FF said after the game.

FC Ebolowa unbeaten in FIVE

FC Ebolowa recorded their fourth win of the season, following their 1-0 win over AS Fortuna at the Annex of the Olembe stadium.

Samenta Laurita Keyack netted the lone goal of the game at the 30th minute, as FC Ebolowa extends their unbeaten run to five games. Since suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Authentic FC on game week one, FC Ebolowa has only dropped points again in their draw against Louves Minpproff.

Amazone FAP extends winless streak to SIX

Amazone FAP has now gone six league games without a win, following their recent 2#1 defeat by Éclair FF.

Naomi Eto’s early goal gave FAP hopes, but a brace from Daha Camilla secured all points for Eclair, after FAP was reduced to 10 following a red card to Mbomozomo.

FAP’s only point this season came in their zero all draw against AS AWA.

Caïman FF records first win of the season

Caïman FF of Douala recorded their first win of the season following their 2#1 win over Ngadeu FF at the Bepanda Annex stadium on Wednesday.

An own goal from Damdam Fadimatou gave Caïman the lead at the stroke of Half time, but Sydoni Ewodo drew the game level with a quarter of an hour left to play.

Edwige Nsali won it late (87) for Caïman FF, have now ended their five games losing streak.

Ngadeu FF is yet to win a game since the got promotion to the top tier.

In the other game played in Douala on Wednesday, defending champions AS AWA FF held high flying Authentic FC to a goalless draw.
