The Cameroon Seven Aside Football Association has taken a historic step by appointing former FIFA Referee Goretti Nain Diangha Maria as the pioneer president of its newly formed Referee Committee. This significant move aims to professionalize and elevate refereeing standards in the rapidly growing seven-a-side football format across the country.
Nain, renowned for her expertise in football and sports administration, will lead the committee in training, developing, and supervising referees nationwide. Her leadership is expected to enhance the integrity and quality of officiating, contributing to fair and competitive matches within the association.
Joining Nain on the committee are several notable figures in Cameroonian football, including Epanlo Henry, Mbelle Mbelle Justus, Cheney Akwani, Chin Valentine, Tiayon Ignace, Onana Joseph, and Biffou Frank. Their combined experience and dedication will play a crucial role in shaping the future of refereeing in Cameroon’s seven-a-side football scene.
Speaking on her appointment, Nain said, “I am honored to take on this role and committed to ensuring that refereeing in Cameroon’s seven-a-side football reaches the highest standards. Fair play and respect for the rules are the pillars of any sport, and I will work tirelessly to uphold these values.”
