Goerge Elokobi, a former student of Saint Joseph College Sasse in Buea has been appointed head coach of English fifth tier club Mainstone United FC, until the end of next season.
Having being in charge of the club temporarily, the ex-Wolves defender officially replaces Hakan Hayrettin, who was sacked on January 9 following a series of poor results.

Maidstone have failed to win any of their 11 league matches under Elokobi and are bottom of the National League, 13 points from safety, with eight games of the campaign remaining.
However, the club’s Chief Executive officer says Elokobi’s prove of loyalty and great leadership is what has earned him the trust to be at the helm of the technical staff, despite the club’s struggles for victory.
Elokobi, 37, was born in born in Mamfe, Southwest region if Cameroon. He moved to England aged 16 and made a name for himself at Wolverhampton in the English Premier league.
Winner of both the Championship and League one titles with Wolves, Elokobi’s last bus stop on the pitch was with Maidstone, having captained them to promotion to the National League in 2021-22, after a three-years stay as player.
Maidstone presently sit last on the league table with 24 points from 39 games played, 73 points away from league leaders.
