French Cup: Grace Yango assist Marseille make history

Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon and Olympique of Marseille midfielder, Grace Yango has helped Marseille draw closer to the French Cup finals after a penalty shootout win that saw her side earn a quarter final ticket.

Grace, 29, was a force to reckon with in this encounter, having exhibited so much experience on the turf in just her debut game.

For the first time in the history of their participation, Marseille reaches this stage of the competition after a 6-5 penalty shootout win following a 2-2 draw at regular time.

The Lioness had arguably a good start at Marseille and her input contributed to the club picking up a round of eight ticket for the very first time.

Fresh from Fleury 91 still in France, the prolific midfielder joined the French Division 1 club on January 13,2023 and has now written her name in history books with Marseille for being part of the squad that made the quater finals of the French Cup competition for the first time.

Ngock Yango Jeanette Grace is amongst the 23-woman squad summoned to camp by head coach of the Cameroon indomitable lionesses, Gabriel Zabo, ahead of their FIFA women’s World Cup playoffs against Thailand next month.
