Francophie Games: Cameroon beats Niger to reach Final, Grabs another Gold medal

The U20 lions of Cameroon have progressed to the final of the ongoing Francophonie games in Kinshasa,following a 1-0 win over Niger this Friday, August 4.

Fauve Azur’s Arthur Avom Ebong, scored the lone goal that secured the win for team Cameroon.

The boys of coach Yvan Kenmoe had recorded a zero all draw against Lebanon on the first outing and then beat Niger in the second game(1-0)

Both sides qualified for the semis and this second meeting in less than a week, ended still in a 1-0 win for the Lions.

In the meantime, team Cameroon has won the gold medal in the
Women’s 100m Relay at the Francophonie games to set a new national record in the process.

The team of Marlyse Ahanda, Njock Eunice, Mireille Ntoumi, and Brigitte Ntsama finished the race in 43.93 seconds, breaking the previous record of 44.08 seconds gotten in 2017.

Congo grabbed the silver medal, while, the host nation’s representative won the bronze.

So far, Cameroon is third on the medal chart, having won eight gold, 10 silvers and 14 bronze medals.
