Nine-time African Champions, Super Falcons ended 2022 as the top-ranked African team with the last FIFA Ranking for the year.

Nigeria with 1537.65 points occupy the 45th position in the December 2022 FIFA ranking and number one in Africa.

WAFCON 2022 winners, Banyana Banyana maintained its second position in Africa with 54th position in the world.

Ahead of next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Playoff Tournament in New Zealand, Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon occupy the third position in Africa and maintained its 58th position in the world.

Black Queens of Ghana follow Cameroon closely in the 59th position in the world and fifth position in Africa despite not qualifying for WAFCON 2022.

Ivory Coast,
Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Zambia complete Africa’s top team-ranked women’s football teams.

Nigeria alongside South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia have qualified for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup as Africa’s four automatically qualified teams.

Cameroon and Senegal will early next year fight for the remaining three World Cup slots at the Playoffs Tournament in New Zealand.
