Interrupted thirty years ago, the Cameroonian Golden Ball ceremony is one of the innovations brought to Cameroonian football by Samuel Eto’o Fils following his election as head of the national football governing body. After the 2022 edition, which was almost twinned with the Champions Trophy, football fans will experience a unified ceremony in 2023, which will contribute to restoring the greatness of Cameroonian football.
The 2022 Golden Ball winners were Monique Ngock (women’s), a former member of Éclair de Sa’a who now plays for Stade de Reims, and Marou Souaibou (men’s), a former player with Coton Sport de Garoua who now plays for Orlando Pirates in South Africa.
