Apejes’ Christian Fack Bayokolack became the first player to score in three consecutive games in this season’s Cameroon Elite One championship following a goal against Union.

Union Sportive of Douala separated on equal terms (2-2) with Apejes of Mfou in a Matchday 11 fixture this Saturday December 31 at the Bepanda Omnisport Stadium in Douala.

APEJES captain Fack who had scored in his previous two games was among the scorers for the third game running.

The Nasara Gamakai displayed their class in the presence of just over a hundred of their fans who were around, but Apejes denied them victory with a resilient performance.

Ivan Mvondo took just nine minutes to put the host ahead – heading home from a fine cross from Mbeleck Michel.

The on-form Union side came close again in the 23rd minute when Ngoh Blaise forced a great save from Sidoine Koularambi through a beautiful set piece.

Apejes’ best chance of the opening 30 minutes fell to captain and on form captain Christian Fack Bayokolack, but his shot on goal was comfortably swallowed by Elimbi Samuel who played in the absence of Haschou Kerido from the Matchday squad.

The next chance of the game fell to Mvondo, unfortunately he didn’t connect with the cross inside the box.

Union took the one goal advantage to the break but returned as a better side.

Christian Fack Bayokolack benefited from a fine cross from Joseph Apam in the 57th minute to level for the visitors.

It will soon be 2-1 for APEJES as Yoan Bayano Zibi headed home from a well cooked cross.

Union improved after conceding the second goal and in one of the galloping runs to the Apejes box central defender Christian Fone scored the equalizer with 22 minutes left on the Referees watch.

Coach Ndongo Emma of APEJES brought on tricky Noh Nafeng Yvan and Junior Benedictus Atemengue in a push to get the winner.

Unfortunately both sides only traded misses in the final 17 minutes, thus leaving the contest on the 2-2 score to the disappointment of the home fans though their coach Oumarou Sokba said he was satisfied.

Both clubs finish the first phase of the championship in the top half and will come back for more next February.
