TKC of Yaoundé lead scorer and skipper Frederick Etoumbang was amongst the goal scorers on Thursday as TKC edged Dragon Yaoundé to keep their dreams of promotion to the MTN Elite One championship in tact.
TKC of Yaoundé defeated struggling city rivals Dragon by the odd goal in three on Thursday at the Bamendzi stadium to make it two wins in four outings, which puts them back in contention for promotion and narrows Dragon’s chances of achieving the same goal.
Dragon woes in the eight-club tournament continued as they recorded a fourth defeat in four outings, despite Steve Patrick Akongo adding to his tally for the season.
The got off to a perfect start for the multiple Cameroon champions as they had their noses in front after 19 minutes into the contest.
Etoumbang crowned the great phase of the game for the game the experienced side with a goal in the 19th minute before Akongo leveled matters.
Daniel Nkomba won it for TKC with five minutes of regulation time left. He combined with his skipper before directing the ball into the net for the winner.
The victory is TKC’s second of the competition and takes their points tally to seven which leaves them on the fourth spot on the lig going into match day five against Racing Bafoussam while Dragon who are now out of the promotion race face Panthere.
