Botev Plovdiv secured a 1-0 victory over Krumovgrad on matchday three of the competition, thanks to a goal from midfielder Eto’o Eyenga James.
Botev Plovdiv started the match brightly, as Antoine Conte put a header on target in the 9th minute, only to be denied by Krumovgrad goalkeeper Janko Georgiev. Samuel Aqueray also forced a good save with a long-range effort after 30 minutes of play.
Eto’o Eyenga, had a chance to give his side the lead in the 41st minute but his powerful shot went over the crossbar. However, Eyenga made no mistake in the 52nd minute, scoring the lone goal of the game.
The 23-year-old, who started his career with Nantes in 2018-19 before moving to Boulogne II in 2020-21, joined Botev Plovdiv in 2021 and has since extended his contract with the club until 2023.
His goal in the 52nd minute at the Nikola Shterev Starika football complex was the difference between the two sides.
This was Eto’o Eyenga’s first goal of the season, as he hopes to build on this performance as he continues to push his career forward with Botev Plovdiv.
