Cameroon’s third choice keeper Davis Epassy has bid farewell to his club, Ahba FC, after months of inactivity.
The 2022 world cup participant confirmed this, on Tuesday January 30 via his social media , thanking Abha’s president and his now former teammates for all the good moments.
“Thank you to the club Abha FC, the president, fans and all my teammates, with who I shared good times, it’s time for us to part ways , I wish you good luck and success” He wrote
The club also confirmed this news , thanking the 30-year old for his time spent representing the side.
The shot-stopper’s departure was long due, due to his inactivity for the past four months.
Davis was sidelined by the technical bench after Abha 1-3 loss to Al hilal way back on August 14,2023, the lone game he has played for the side this season.
In his first season with the side,Epassy made 29 appearances keeping seven clean sheets and conceding 38 goals.
Epassy, who has seven caps for Cameroon, was part of the squad that finished third at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.
He also played in the third game against Brazil, at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where Cameroon won by one goal to zero. He was part of Cameroons delegation to Cote D’Ivoire for the 2023 AFCON.
Epassy’s next destination is unknown, but he has been linked with Qatari clubs and a possible return to Europe , where he previously played for clubs in France, Spain and Greece.
