Hellas Verona have completed the signing of Enzo Ebosse from Udinese, bringing in a Serie A-experienced center-back to bolster their defense ahead of the 2025–26 campaign.

The 26-year-old Cameroonian international underwent medicals on Monday, July 14, and has now joined the Gialloblu on loan, with an option to buy that becomes an obligation should Verona avoid relegation next season.

Ebosse returns to Serie A after a six-month loan at Jagiellonia Białystok in Poland, where he made 11 appearances following his comeback from a serious cruciate ligament injury.

Despite his injury struggles, Verona has bet on his versatility and relative top-flight experience, as the former Angers and Le Mans man has made 23 Serie A appearances for Udinese since arriving in Italy in 2022.

He is expected to join Paolo Zanetti’s squad immediately at their pre-season retreat in Folgaria.

With depth a concern in central defense, Verona identified Ebosse as a player capable of fitting into multiple tactical systems. His ability to play both in a back four and a back three made him an ideal fit for the club’s setup.

The club sees this as a low-risk, high-upside move: should Ebosse return to full form and help Verona secure Serie A survival, his permanent signing becomes automatic.

Meanwhile, Udinese, who brought Ebosse to Italy from Angers in 2022, are continuing to refresh their backline and midfield after several summer exits.

With the player no longer part of their immediate plans, the deal benefits both sides and could prove to be a smart pickup for Verona who already have compatriot Jackson Tchatchoua on their books.
