The management of the People’s Elephants of Aba have politely blast former Nigerian international Brown Ideye following his outburst about outstanding bonuses for last season.
Brown who joined the club on a One million Naira contract midway last season and received a special treatment from the Nwanko Kano led Enyimba failed to live up to his billing.
Enyimba was hoping Ideye who won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and played for a number of top European clubs was expected to be a hit on and off the pitch but it didn’t happen to date.
Despite that he got paid by the club but was owed some bonuses which he has since opted to release the information and that didn’t go down well with Enyimba that fired back.
“We paid you ₦1M salary, lodged you in five star ₦65k hotels, flew you by air for away games. And you repaid us by scoring just 5 goals,” Enyimba FC replied Brown Ideye for publicly demanding unpaid bonuses.
Ideye’s struggles at the club club impacted the club’s form last term and their ambitions for the season as they lost the domestic title to Remo Stars.
The choice of words in the club’s reaction shows the situation is far from over and both institutions.
