Elite Two: TKC delays Bafmeng United first victory as both teams share spoils in a four goals thriller

Bafmeng United and Tonnerre Kalara Club played a two all tie at the University of Bamenda stadium in match day four of the MTN Elite Two championship.

Daouda Yakubu and Ndeh Collins’ scored for Bafmeng United while Luc Bide Ndohoungar and Daniel Ciriac Nkomba Nlep scored for Tonnerre Kalara Club.

Both teams began the match and tried to impose their play style.

Bafmeng United imposed their style in the middle of the field with Daouda Yakubu, Malachi Nfor and Daniel Song Nwelar controlling the play.

Bafmeng United created the first scoring chance with a long range shot from Oliver Korn Gong but goalkeeper Leonard Nkongho was swift to make the safe.

Minutes later, Tonnerre Kalara Club came close to opening scores on two swift occasions. First from Maxime William Betossi and Guy Marcel Zoua Ella. Experienced goalkeeper Leonard Ngam made the saves on the two occasions.

At the stroke of half time, Bafmeng United took the lead after a well worked passage of play.

Bengal Parker delivered a cross that was intercepted by Oliver Korn Gong. His interception proved to be an assist for Daouda Yakubu whose header went pass goalkeeper Leonard Nkongho as Bafmeng United took a one nil lead into the break.

Tonnerre Kalara Club starting XI against Bafmeng United

Upon resumption of the second half, Tonnerre Kalara Club started the better side.

From a well taken corner kick by Guy Marcel Essomo, the defenders of Bafmeng United were caught off guard as Luc Bide Ndohoungar won a free header to level scores for Tonnerre Kalara Club.

Malachi Nfor Che came close to giving Bafmeng United the lead again but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Leonard Nkongho.

With a quarter of the game left, Ndeh Collins headed a well taken corner kick as Bafmeng United took the lead again.

When Bafmeng United thought they had grabbed all three points, Daniel Ciriac Nkomba Nlep equalized for Tonnerre Kalara Club as the match ended two goals on either side.
