David Pagou’s Stade Renard and South side Colombe Sportive battled to a stalemate on Sunday in match day three of the MTN Elite title playoffs.
Fans at the Mbappe Leppe Stadium on Sunday, March 31, unfolded under the scorching heat of the sun, creating challenging conditions for both teams.
Despite the intense atmosphere, Renard had their lone opportunity to break the deadlock when captain Brice Sindjo found himself in a promising position in the opponent’s box. He unleashed a powerful shot, aiming to put his team ahead, but Idrissou Nfor made the crucial save.
This was the only clear chance created by David Pagou’s side, as the South Doves were more daring throughout the encounter.
Their midfield controlled possession, and their attacking trio posed constant threats to Stade Renard’s defense.

They are young players with quality, and we need to continuously encourage them. I believe we will do better in the next match,” Towa told the press post-game.
David Pagou seemed impressed by the one point earned, considering their opponents’ stronger performance.
“Despite not meeting our goal-scoring expectations, it was a good game. Colombe missed several chances, and we weren’t particularly dangerous. However, given the chances created by Colombe, we can still view it as a positive outcome,” Pagou expressed.
Both teams grappled with fatigue, having played matches just 48 hours earlier. The toll of back-to-back games was evident, affecting their sharpness and overall intensity.
This is Colombe Sportive’s first draw in three outings. The team now has four points, one higher than Stade Renard, who has managed three draws in three outings.
