After their brilliant 0#1 victory on matchday 10 against Bamboutos of Mbouda, PWD Bamenda received legendary Canon of Yaounde at the Mbouda Municipal Stadium Sunday December 10, 2023.
The first half of the match was balanced for both sides with Canon of Yaounde having a majority of the ball possession.
Canon of Yaounde created most scoring opportunities in the first half but failed to take advantage of it.
PWD Bamenda had one remarkable opportunity in the first half that came thanks to Akoh Calistus but his header was saved by goalkeeper Karim Bello.
In the second half, Canon of Yaounde dominated. Their dominance paid off at the 80th minute of the match when Guy Loic Dipanda scored to give Canon the lead.
With ten minutes of play left, the Abakwa Boys fought hard for the equalizer but they failed to get it thanks to Canon’s resilient defense manned by former AS Fortuna defender Kouamedjo.
The boys of coach Joseph Atangana now have 17 points in Pool A and are ranked second, same number of points with Gazelle FA that defeated Bamboutos of Mbouda.
