Forward Guy Eyike, ensured 10-man Union Sportive of Douala move far away from the danger zone after scoring the lone goal in the 1-0 win against Fovu Club of Baham in match day 15 of the MTN Elite One championship this Sunday.
Guy, came of the bench to decide Union’s fate just four minutes after making his entry. He scored to gift the hosts who were one man down all three points from the game at the Bepanda Omnisport stadium.

The early minutes of the game were tough for Union defenders Ebongue Ekwalla and Michel as they were given much work by Fovu forwards Nana and Alex Nandje. Kerido’s crucial 22 minutes save had to deny the visitors a chance of taking the lead.
The pressure mounted on Union defenders caused Left-back Mbeleck to mistime a tackle which earned him a direct red card at the 28th minute.
Union equally squandered free kick opportunities in the first half and a couple of other glaring opportunities infront of goal.
The first segment ended in a barren tie, an opportunity for pressures coach Oumarou Sokba to go into the locker room and work on getting the goals for Union.
Guy Eyike, was brought in at the 58th minute of play and in his second touch of the ball, he scored for the Nasara Gamakai, heading home from a rebounce shot from Gallus Eteme.
The 62’ goal for Union was the lone recorded in this encounter as hosts grabbed all three points to move directly behind Fovu with 21points.

Guy was eventually awarded the Man of the match award for his impact in the game, though he only lasted 32 minutes.
