Astres FC of Douala, have recorded an important 4-3 win over Dragon of Yaounde, in one of day 16 games of the Elite one championship. The game was played on Sunday afternoon at the Olembe Annex B stadium.
Dragon came into the game on a back of a run of eight games without a win, and their latest defeat now extends their win less streak to nine games.
It was Dragon who went two goals up in the first 12 minutes after former FC Montceau’s midfielder Di Giovanni Nouma Oum, had put them in front from the penalty at the 10th minute.
David Merveilleux increased tally at the 12 minute of play, but in-form Julien Kamta converted a penalty at the 17 minute of play (his eighth goal of the season), to put the game at 2-1.
Jules Armand Kooh made sure both sides went back to the change room on a parity, as he scored in the second minute of added time to bring back Astres in the game.
Upon resumption for the second half, Dragon quickly went ahead through Koloto Vivien at the 49th minute.
Everything seems like it was going well for Dragon, till the last seven minutes of the game, when they collapsed under immense pressure from the Brazilians of Bepanda.
Landry Ntankeu drew the game level at the 83rd minute. Less than one minute separated his goal from the match winner, after Evans Favour Bakandja stabbed Dragon at the 84th minute.
Astres was reduced to 10 men late in the game, after a red card to defender Alexandre Benga in the first minute of added time.
Dragon has now recorded just two points from their last Nine league games (two draws, seven defeats) and are currently bottom of pool B with Nine points.
For Astres, it has been an upsurge of form, as they have won four of their last five games, and have moved up to third in Pool B, with 23 points.
