- Eintracht Frankfurt’s contract with Jerome Onguene has been mutually terminated
- This is following his inability to make a single appearance for the Club ever since his sign in, in 2022
In a move that was long anticipated, Eintracht Frankfurt has officially parted ways with Jerome Onguene. The 27-year-old’s contract, which was initially set to run until 2027, was terminated by mutual consent.
Onguene’s term with Eintracht Frankfurt was marked by disappointment and frustration. Despite being signed in 2022, he has not been able make a single appearance for the club. With this in mind the Cameroonian defender saw no option in staying in the club.
Eintracht Frankfurt had loaned Onguene out to Red Bull Salzburg and later to Swiss side Servette. However, these moves failed to yield the desired results, and Onguene’s time away from the club only served to further diminish his prospects.
The defender’s inability to contribute to the team, coupled with his hefty salary, made him a luxury Eintracht Frankfurt could no longer afford.
