2015 MTN Elite Two champions Eding Sport de la Lekie have announced their comeback to the competition in strong terms via a 3-1 win against city rivals AS FAP this Thursday in a fixture rescheduled from Wednesday due to heavy rainfall.
Anicet Mbarga Foe’s Eding Sport de la Lekie dispatched AS FAP by 3-0 in their match day one clash of the 2023/24 MTN Elite Two championship.
The club that was relegated via the MTN Elite One championship relegation playoffs last season were made to sweat for the three points by a FAP side that were ambitious but lacking in the end.
A brace from Harrison Ford Djonkep was the main catalyst to the win in a game FAP scored first.
Armel Fioko put FAP ahead just after the half-hour mark, but the lead didn’t last as Harrison Djonkep scored a brace and Tousse Borel got the other to ensure all points be that of the 2015 Elite Two champions.
Djonkep scored the leveler just before the interval and added his second while Tousse got the other goal to mark winning entry.
Renaissance played out a 2-2 draw in the other Pool Eding moves to the top of Pool B ahead of the other games this weekend across the country.
