Drafted in the Women’s National Basketball Association in April, Dulcy Fankam is set to debut for the Seattle Storm on the 20th of May.
The American side has released its rooster for their open day of the Commissioner Cup, with the Cameroonian international’s name on their list.
The 23-year-old has penned down a three-year deal with the side and will be wearing her favorite number 12.
This gesture confirms her official integration into the WNBA, making her the first woman to do so after Alvine Mendeng in 2008.
Dulcy Fankam leaves the South Florida women’s basketball team, where she and her teammates emerged as 2023 regular season champions in February. Prior to that, she had been one of the best basketball players in the country’s BEAC before her departure for the USA in 2018.
Born in Nkongsamba, Littoral Region, the basketballer continues to make a name for herself both at home and abroad.
